Brimstone update (25 July 2019)
As we’ve officially hit the warm summer months, we thought we’d turn up the temperatures in-game as well. Introducing our new Brimstone update, which lets you play Worms W.M.D in a pretty fiery place you may know as hell. Oh, and Brimstone is a FREE update, of course!
The Brimstone update includes:
- The Brimstone map theme
- 10 new Brimstone-themed hats
- 5 Brimstone-themed gravestones
- ALL crafted weapons are now available in schemes!
- Various bug fixes and optimisations.
With ALL crafted weapons now available to be used in a scheme, a new dynamic weapons panel automatically adjusts in size to accommodate. Customise your loadout in Scheme Options > Crafted Weapons or select the Full Wormage scheme to jump straight in!

Ranked Mode v2.0
- Welcome to Worms W.M.D’s new Ranked Mode update, where players can rise up the ranks by winning games, and earn points and unlock rewards along the way.
Features include:
- Skill Based Matchmaking: Players will be matched against opponents of equal rank where possible.
- ELO Based Points System: More points are awarded for beating a player of a higher rank and less points are awarded for beating a player of a lower rank.
- Rewards: Each rank tier and bracket have their own rewards. Once you have earned a reward it can’t be lost, even if you drop ranks!
- There are ten rank tiers to rise through within 4 brackets (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Master). Once a bracket is reached players cannot drop below.
- Bonus points are awarded for winning your first ranked game each day, and for gaining a winning streak of three wins. (The win streak bonus will be held as long as you keep winning games!)
- Ranked games can be played from the Multiplayer Menu by selecting ‘Ranked 1 vs 1’. Clicking on ‘Your Rank’ allows you to preview and set rewards, view the ranked leaderboards, and check out the infographic showing progression.
- Once Armageddon rank is reached, your worldwide position within that tier is shown, so that you can continue to battle it out among the Elite to be the world’s best Worms W.M.D player!
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Altered the ingredients of the Party Balloon from 4/2/0/0 to 4/2/1/0
- Made improvements to the dialog boxes which now displays buttons when saving changes
- Fixed an issue after dropping the Super Sheep and allowing retreat time to end
- Fixed an issue whereby pressing [A] to save changes to a name on controller wouldn't save correctly
- Fixed and issue when dealing final damage to a vehicle with a blowtorch could cause it to blow up before the turn ends
- Fixed an issue where placing a sticky grenade could push it through the landscape
- Fixed an issue which could trigger the wrong speechbank sample when dealing heavy damage
- Fixed an issue where the ready button wouldn't reset after player leaves a lobby
- Fixed an issue which could cause players to get stuck on the loading screen following disconnection
- Fixed an issue which caused the camera to jump to a different worm during damage summary
- Fixed an issue which would prevent the 'Overall Friends' filter to load properly
- Fixed an issue which prevented animated elements spawning when restarting a match

- Fixed an issue to the worm animations after falling onto the land
- Fixed an issue with the dropdown boxes in the frontend
- Fixed an issue whereby the worms names could be seen floating during an Airstrike
- Fixed an issue which caused the Sheep on a Rope to spin on the spot when entering a vehicle
- Fixed an issue where the Training Shotgun could cause 26 damage
- Fixed an issue which could cause the Barbequed Sheeps flames to appear in the wrong location
- Fixed an issue to the Worm Lick after firing it into the water which prevented the next use of the weapon to not work correctly
- Fixed an issue with the Worm Stinger which could prevent the turn passing over when middle payload was in the water
- Fixed an issue which could allow the AI to see inside buildings
- Fixed an issue which prevented dealing damage to a vehicle with a Blowtorch when stood above it
- Improve functionality of the AI when teleporting above crates
- Fuse Previous is now exposed in the key bindings
- Improved the flow of dialogues in the frontend
- Fixed an issue which was causing players Rank Points to be reset to zero
- Fixed an issue which prevented camera from locating worm during Teleport In phase
- Fixed an issue whereby the Drone wasn’t being damaged by fire
- Fixed an issue which could alter the players aiming following a jump
- Fixed an issue when timer became low during Teleport In and no warning audio could be heard

Balances and Tweaks
- Vehicles will now randomly spawn in (5% chance) during Ranked matches instead of at the beginning of the match
- Slightly lowered health of the helicopter (-5 Health)
- Sound of the worm plop increased
- Secondary weapon fuses can now be altered
- The camera will now follow the Sentry Gun Lite when it’s thrown
- Any items under water during sudden death will no longer be visible
